Weekend at Crossen Castle
Lightpainting-Workshop & LostPlace

At this top class workshop at Castle Crossen I got a full exploitation of this unique location: light painting in the evening and lost place photography in the castle during the day with a unique ceremonial hall! We also spend time to eat together, discuss image editing and address questions.

As location the castle Crossen, a baroque castle complex from 1712 in the east of Thuringia, was at our disposal. It is located on a mountain spur above the valley of the White Elster, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view! Crossen Castle is known above all for its magnificent Baroque hall, which is decorated with stunning Italian illusionary paintings. In addition, there are many other rooms to explore – some of which have already been renovated ( in baroque style), some of which are still being used as teacher training rooms, and of course many corners with the very special charm of a Lost Place.

We had a total of two nights and one day at the castle. Enough time to create unique pictures and explore the castle photographically. During the two nights I got a strong training in light painting photography, and we created very different light paintings in different rooms of the castle.

We also benefited from additional time at the castle on Saturday to do some explorations in daylight and to discover many great Lost-Place photo spots.
On Saturday evening we had dinner together at the nearby Gasthof Weißes Ross and discussed our results so far. Afterwards, we went to the castle for the second light painting night and took our pictures until well after midnight.
